Hi, just wanted to pop in and post a note and let you know it is a world of knowledge out there about the band. You've probably already found lots of forums and blogs via youtube, lapbandtalk.com and band2gether.net. I have found so much valuable info from all of these places. I am scheduled for my surgery on tomorrow. I hope that I can help with any questions you may have along the way.
Thanks you for comment. I really appreciate it and it's been great to find other people that have gone through the procedure. I am at the beginning stage and I am so anxious to be where you are..post-op. I believe this is the right direction for me and I know that it will still be a lot of work on my part. I'm ready for the journey!
Well...here it goes. I am tired of my weight and finally feel ready to do something about it. I have tried everything under the sun but it does not last for long. I attended my first lapband seminar last Saturday and have my first consultation on 10/22/09. My husband and mother are totally supportive. However, when I have mentioned it to friends, I get the comments like "why don't you lose the weight the natural way?" (of course these are the friends that are much smaller than me and have no problems with their weight). I belong to a gym that my job pays for and although I go, I feel totally unmotivated. I do like the Zumba classes though. I'm not on a quest to be thin, just want less weight on my body. I have had some health problems as a result and I just want to be able to play and run with my children without being out of breath in a matter of seconds. I am really interested in people that either have already gone on this journey or in the process of the lapband surgery to communicate with. I am gathering as much information as I can, positive and negative, so that I can prepare myself for the surgery.
